ATB is thrilled to be bringing in Terry O’Reilly, Canadian broadcast producer and personality, best known as host of the CBC Radio One series, O'Reilly on Advertising, The Age of Persuasion, and most recently, Under the Influence, to speak at our Entrepreneur Centres later this month.

In Terry’s new book, This I Know: Marketing Lessons from Under The Influence, he discusses the issues most entrepreneurs struggle with:

  • The question: what business are you really in?
  • The age-old marketing truism that what you sell and what people buy are always two different things.
  • The importance of storytelling in marketing, because if you don’t have a story, you don’t have a business.

He also dedicates a chapter to your elevator pitch—can you sum up your company in one compelling, unforgettable line? If you can, your marketing will always be vivid. If you can’t, your company is underperforming.

He’ll be talking about these three topics and several more at the ATB Entrepreneur Centre Events in Calgary and Edmonton. After his talk, we’ve planned a lot of time so he can sit down with attendees and have a real discussion about their marketing issues.

As partners of ATB, we wanted to ensure that you knew about these events so that you could promote them to your network.

Hi Dafne. From Spartan Spark.

Womanition has been integral to the success of my business for many reasons. Prior to starting my company, I worked for 20 years in the film and television industry, a world unto itself. Upon starting Modern Muse Media, I knew very few people in the corporate world nor much about entrepreneurship. Womanition embraced me and has provided me with a community of clients, and now friends, who support my business and inspire me as a business owner. The networking and professional development opportunities have contributed to the growth of my company and my confidence as an entrepreneur. I have secured various clients due to exposure of the magazine and many Womanition member have attended our workshops. It truly has been invaluable being a part of this organization. -Jesse Szymanski
