DO BOLD!
Embrace Your Desires & Let the Light In

From nurse researcher and healthcare leader to author, artisan, and coach, I understand firsthand the importance of knowing what to release and what to keep. Doing life differently took determination and grit to stay focused on my new vision. Doing what I had always done would continue to yield results, but it would be more of the same—not more of what I wanted.

While I loved teaching, nursing, research, and all that my career offered, I had no room to let in anything else. So, I left my career behind to do more of what I desired—writing beyond academia and into a more creative life.

Since then, I’ve published two non-fiction books, several essays, book chapters, and shorter pieces. The Accidental Caregiver: Wisdom and guidance for the unexpected challenges of family caregiving launched my writing career. That was followed by The Care Book: A planning and resource guide to support your journey from accidental to intentional caregiving. Both are widely available. Forthcoming titles include Canada’s Oldest Operating Airport: A 100-year history and Pilots, Polar Bears and Patients: Memoirs of a young nurse in Canada’s north.

Being deeply curious drives what I do. I love learning, especially new genres and writing techniques that allow me to share my knowledge with others through writing, teaching, and coaching. I believe most of the skills and attitudes we need are within us, but sometimes we need a nudge to tap into them.

I can help you tap into yours through individual or group coaching sessions. I use my writing and teaching to inform and support anyone experiencing a challenging circumstance—whether it’s caregiving, business challenges, or major life transitions.

I am naturally drawn to teaching and leading people and organizations to pursue their vision because it is an innate part of who I am. As a long-time yogi and yoga teacher, I see synergies between bodywork, writing, and creative practices—whether creating a product or a new vision. The connections are subtle but powerful in supporting both creative and intellectual work. I use these synergistic connections to clear away blocks and open paths to progress, success, and growth.
