Embracing the Beauty of Everyday Moments: A Journey in Fine Art Photography
Starting my own business was fueled by a desire to find joy in my work every day and inspire other women facing challenges. I wanted to show that it is possible to support your family and grow your business by doing what you love. Capturing beauty in mundane things and places and sharing my discoveries with the world has been incredibly rewarding.
However, raising young children practically on my own and battling a genetic disorder made starting a business overwhelming. Overcoming fear and doubt has been a significant part of my life’s journey. Learning to ride a bike at 40, overcoming fear of public speaking, and saying “no” when necessary taught me that facing fears head-on is essential. I also taught myself to set realistic goals, divide tasks, plan effectively, and as the saying goes, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time,” I took things one step at a time. But I never stopped dreaming big.
The hardest part of being an entrepreneur is the lack of a mapped route to success. Initially, the vision for my business wasn’t clear, but now I know what I want to achieve and how to evolve my studio into a thriving fine art photography business. I’ve learned that growing your marketing is more sustainable than relying on a few successful projects. I’ve also learned that constant learning and persistence are crucial.
My daily routine involves going with the flow, living in the moment, showing love and care to those around me, and asking myself what I truly want to do. These practices build my confidence, clear vision, and adaptability, all essential to being a happy entrepreneur. Networking, organizing work processes, and prioritizing actions are essential to being a successful entrepreneur. My biggest learning is that I will never compromise on quality standards and integrity with my customers because being an entrepreneur gives me the freedom to choose the people I work with and the ability to do what I love. No compromise necessary.
Through my fine art photography, I aim to bring wonder and inspiration into homes, celebrating life’s beauty and encouraging others to embrace the extraordinary in the ordinary.
