Celebrate All Of Life
EVEN IT’S END…
My fascination with creating memorable events, celebrations, and entertainment began years ago with my management trainee program at Edmonton Northlands. I wouldn’t change anything about this career journey that spanned over 15 years of incredible event education.
Ah, I was a spongebabe, learning everything I could ever want to know about staging an event—from hospitality, food & beverage to staging & logistics, rodeo to rock concerts, horse racing to casinos, sporting events to trade shows, and World Figure Skating Championships to even 5 Stanley Cup NHL Oilers hockey wins! You name it, we did it. I loved it and soaked it up. No surprise, my Northlands work experiences led me to where I am today, having launched my own celebrations and event business.
Fast forward to 2021, my father passed away suddenly. My family united to plan Dad’s traditional Catholic funeral, but we wanted to incorporate MORE to honor Dad’s final farewell. We included tribute speakers, a slideshow of his life, and his favorite songs. Church services are rooted in tradition, while a Celebration of Life is more informal, providing room for creativity and unique storytelling of your loved one’s life. Thus, we added a tribute “Celebration of Life” during the funeral luncheon that followed.
According to our friends and family, our efforts warmed and inspired all in attendance. This was followed by an endorsement from a friend in the funeral business, who encouraged me to consider becoming a Funeral Celebrant, while hinting how it resonated with my celebration business of planning special events. She was right!
I’m proud to announce, as a certified Funeral Celebrant, I offer Living Memorials, for honorees who may have a terminal illness, and Celebration of Life services, for honorees we are saying goodbye to.
My privilege is to walk this journey with you. Together, we’ll create a meaningful “Celebration Moment” that will honor the story of your loved one’s life journey. After all, life is what you celebrate, all of it, even its end, because “It’s hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember.”
