A Golden JUBILEE
Never would I have imagined reaching such a business milestone—our Golden 50th Year Anniversary! I started my business, Jostar Interiors, with a $5,000 loan to purchase equipment, sewing machines, and office supplies, then hired my first employee. Like all businesses, we have evolved and adapted to the market and our clients’ needs, moving from drapery to blinds and into interior design and full renovations.
50 years of anything can seem daunting, but I have the same passion for design as when I first opened my doors. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my story—look what we created together. Success does not happen alone, and I am grateful to everyone who helped me create the business it is today.
To my customers and clients who supported us, saw our vision, followed our advice, and trusted us with their homes: You were my reason to keep going!
To the staff and designers who have worked alongside me helping to build Jostar Interiors through camaraderie and dedication: Not many businesses can boast a legacy of having employees for 20 to 30 years!
To my suppliers who are part of our team and treat my customers like their customers: You make this part of my job so easy.
To my trades, who bring our visions to life and pride themselves on going above and beyond: I literally could not have done it without you.
To Dale, my husband, your continuing support, understanding, and encouragement are unwavering.
To my children, Ryan and Alysen: You are my real life’s work—I am so proud of you both.
Finally, to my parents, who I know are watching from above and smiling with pride: They taught me that hard work and determination were the formula for success. As a 4th-generation entrepreneur, I followed in my ancestors’ footsteps. My great-grandfather emigrated to Canada from Ukraine with nothing to his name, and his tenacity lives inside me.
I have so many great memories of the people and the projects that built my business, beginning with my first clients, who are still my clients today. We have evolved into a generational business, with the children of clients now coming to us. I look forward to celebrating this milestone with a large golden celebration in early 2025.
This year, I celebrate my 50th year in business—my golden jubilee. It has been a solid gold run. Thank you.
